Acai berry originates from the Brazilian Acai palm, also known as “The Tree of Life”.
It is rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids and fiber. Antioxidants are essential to fighting against free radical damage
such as diseases and aging. Since acai antioxidant value is reduced significantly during processing, it’s best to eat it fresh. Acai berries are very fragile and can’t be shipped for long distance. They must be processed once harvested. Hence, acai products are rather costly.

There are other good sources of antioxidants that don’t burn a hole in your pocket. For example, grapes, pomegranates, artichokes and all types of berries (blueberries, strawberries, cranberries and raspberries).
Acai berry and weight loss
There’s no evidence to support acai’s efficacy in promoting weight loss. It may be a superfood, but it sure isn’t a weight loss miracle product. Once again, unscrupulous marketers are playing off emotions of people who are desperate to lose weight fast and easily.
There are very few supplement companies that I trust… one of them is: http://healthy.getprograde.com
I know the owners and they only sell legitimate supplement products that promote good health rather than claiming to be weight loss pills.
